MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Oct. 28, 2014) — Prospective students interested in studying nursing can attend “Nursing Buff” Day at Milligan College on Friday, Nov. 7. Check in starts at 8 a.m. in the second floor lobby of Derthick Hall and is open to high school juniors, seniors and college transfers.
Following a welcome session at 8:30 a.m., potential nursing majors will have an opportunity to attend a financial aid session to learn about scholarship opportunities available at Milligan, as well as financial assistance from additional sources.
Later, students will attend an information session with Dr. Melinda Collins, chair of the Area of Nursing. Collins, who has been a registered nurse for 25 years and previously practiced in Nashville, Tennessee, and the Tri-Cities area caring for well and critically ill newborns, has taught at Milligan for more than 20 years. Collins will be able to answer questions and give students insight into the curriculum and profession.
At 10:15 a.m., future “Nursing Buffs” will engage in a student panel discussion that provides details about student life at Milligan, as well as the nursing program.
To finish up their day, students and their families will eat lunch in McCormick Dining Hall and have the option to take a guided tour of campus.
