MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Aug. 27, 2014) – Milligan College will present Disciple Makers, a mini-conference for student ministers and youth sponsors, on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the McGlothlin-Street Theatre in Milligan’s Gregory Center for the Liberal Arts.

The event will include discipleship workshops and two main teleconference sessions with Josh Griffin, high school pastor at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California.

Griffin is the author of several books and co-founder of the blog “Download Youth Ministry.” In the main sessions, “A Path of Transformation” and “Practicing Faith Together,” Griffin will address new ways to develop youth ministry.

“It is often a challenge for churches to train adult leaders in youth ministry,” said Phyllis Fox, director of church relations and Youth in Ministry (YiM) at Milligan. “That’s why Milligan is sponsoring Disciple Makers, so participants will spend time with seasoned youth ministry veterans like Josh Griffin and other area church leaders to find out how to best guide teens to become devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.”

The “ask a coach” sessions are available for the first nine groups to sign up and feature a variety of area ministry mentors including Larry Albrecht, Crossroads Christian Church in Gray; Ryan Bader, Grandview Christian Church, Johnson City; Tommy Staggs, First Christian Church, Greeneville; Phil Roberts, Colonial Heights Christian Church, Kingsport; Eric Carter, Plainfield Christian Church, Plainfield, Indiana; Mike Luzadder, ETSU Campus House; Jarrod Suits, Emmanuel Christian Seminary; and Curtis Booher, Milligan College.

Registration is $15 online or $20 on site, which includes lunch. For more information, visit www.milligan.edu/disciplemakers.
