Milligan faculty, staff to spruce up campus for annual work day

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Aug. 11, 2011) — Milligan College’s faculty and staff will take a break from their normal work routines tomorrow, Aug. 12, for the college’s Campus Work Day.

The annual work day invites faculty and staff to help with the final touches of sprucing up the campus for the beginning of the fall semester. Projects will include painting, trimming, landscaping and cleaning around the 195-acre campus. Faculty and staff volunteers will also pick up trash along Buffalo Creek and Toll Branch Road.

“We are excited to welcome our students back to campus this month, and this work day is a wonderful way for our faculty and staff to serve together to get the campus ready,” said Milligan President Bill Greer. “I am grateful for the work done by Milligan’s housekeeping, landscaping and physical plant staff. They make Milligan beautiful each and every day. This annual tradition is our chance to say thanks to them by working side by side as a community for a few hours.”

The work day will kick off with a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. in McCormick Dining Center located in Sutton Hall. After breakfast, employees will divide into groups and complete a checklist of indoor and outdoor projects around campus. The work day will culminate with a lunch at noon in McMahan Student Center.
