MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (June 20, 2011) — Milligan College announces several staff changes taking place this summer in its office of institutional advancement.
Jack Simpson, a major gift officer and assistant to the president of Milligan for the past 12 years, will be promoted to Milligan’s vice president for institutional advancement effective July 16.
Simpson will fill the role currently held by Dr. Bill Greer, who on July 16 will become Milligan’s 15th president. Greer, who has served as vice president for institutional advancement since 2007, will succeed Milligan’s retiring President Donald R. Jeanes.
“Since 2006, Jack has served as director of major and planned gifts, and he has been instrumental in Milligan’s ability to meet our annual fundraising and comprehensive campaign goals,” Greer said. “His academic preparation and professional experience will make him a valuable addition to the president’s cabinet. I am looking forward to continuing to work together in our new roles.”
Simpson graduated from Milligan in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. In 2009 he earned a Master of Arts in philanthropic studies from Indiana University (Indianapolis). He is a member of the Planned Giving Group of Indiana, a chapter of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning.
A native of Twin Falls, Idaho, Jack is married to Beth (Zimmerman), a 1994 graduate of Milligan. They have five children.
Brad Frame of Louisville, Ky., succeeds Simpson as assistant to the president for Milligan’s Midwest region.
Frame, a 1996 Milligan graduate, has distinguished himself in the pharmaceutical and medical industries with Johnson & Johnson, Novartis and most recently, ZirMed. In his new role at Milligan, he will work from his home in Louisville, establishing, maintaining and advancing relationships with alumni and friends throughout the region.
“While Brad’s sales and relationship building skills are excellent, perhaps most exciting, is that he has a heart for Christian service,” Simpson said.
Frame is currently enrolled in courses at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he is pursuing a Master of Arts degree. He and his wife Kristen (Barnett), a 1997 Milligan graduate, have two children.
In addition, Rhajon Smith, currently an annual fund officer at Milligan, will be promoted to Milligan’s director of development effective July 18.
“Since joining our team in 2008 as an annual fund officer, Rhajon has excelled in her tireless work with our medium and mass donor pools, managing Milligan’s phonathon, direct mail, Associated Ladies for Milligan and a myriad of other duties,” Simpson said. “This new title best reflects the role she has already been doing so well for us.”
Smith is a 1998 graduate of Milligan. She has nine years of experience working in development, including six years as director of resource development and marketing for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kingsport. In 2005, she earned a Master of Arts in professional communication from East Tennessee State University. She and her husband Todd, a 1997 Milligan graduate, live in Chuckey, Tenn.
