'The Everyday and the Inanimate' opens April 10

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (April 6, 2011) — “The Everyday and the Inanimate,” an art exhibit by Milligan College senior Danielle Carmen Metz, will be on display Sunday, April 10, through Saturday, April 16, in the Milligan Art Gallery.

The opening reception is Sunday, April 10, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the gallery, located in the lower level of Milligan’s Derthick Hall. It is free and open to the public.

The exhibit will feature original illustrations, paintings, drawings of everyday objects, and oil and acrylic portraits. Her cartoons published in the Stampede, Milligan’s student newspaper, will also be on display.

“Who you are is seen very clearly through art,” said Metz. “Cartoons are a part of me, and they show up in nearly everything I do.”
