MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN. (Feb. 14, 2011) – A weekend workshop to be held March 4-6 at Milligan College will help participants gain the practical skills and knowledge needed to be a top-notch personal trainer in today’s evolving fitness industry.
The college will host a three-day workshop for individuals interested in preparing for the highly respected American College of Sports Medicine’s (ACSM) Certified Personal Trainer credential. There will also be a one-day workshop on Sunday, March 6, for current and previously certified personal trainers who want to attain the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer credential. The workshops are presented by the Fitness Education Network.
The three-day workshop provides state-of-the-art information in the exercise sciences, including updated ACSM and industry guidelines, behavioral objectives, dimensions of wellness and more. Classes will meet from 1-9:30 p.m. on Friday; from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Saturday; and from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday. The cost is $375.
The one-day certification review is designed for personal trainers who feel confident in their basic knowledge of exercise physiology, anatomy and kinesiology. The program will provide the specific knowledge necessary to be successful in attaining the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer credential. This class meets Sunday, March 6, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The cost is $129.
Classes will be held in Wilson Auditorium, located in Milligan’s Hardin Hall. Continuing education credit is available for both workshops.
