MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Oct. 25, 2010) — The SGA Arts Council at Milligan College will host its first Faculty/Student Art Show on Friday, Oct. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the lobby of Milligan’s Gregory Center for the Liberal Arts. This event is free and open to the public.
The exhibit will consist of artwork from talented professors, staff and students. Multiple art genres will be featured, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and graphic design.
The show will also feature a kid’s corner, where children are invited to spend 15 minutes painting a small canvas while parents spend time viewing the exhibit. The council is requesting a $1 donation for children to participate.
The mission of the SGA Arts Council is to bring a new awareness of the arts to the Milligan community. The council is dedicated to expanding the role of art as a greater part of the Milligan experience. Recent efforts to re-energize the council’s focus have created exciting opportunities for students to celebrate the many facets of art on Milligan’s campus.
Cara Beth Quisenberry is the student leader of the SGA Arts Council and she is excited to recognize the individual talents of the Milligan community with the public.
“We are proud of the talents that God has given each one of us and we truly hope the public will enjoy sharing in our celebration of these talents,” said Quisenberry.
