MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (March 16, 2010) – David Mullins, preaching associate at East 91st Street Christian Church in Indianapolis, Ind., will speak at Milligan College on Thursday, March 25, at 11 a.m. in Seeger Memorial Chapel. This event is free and open to the public.
David is the younger brother of renowned Christian musician, Rich Mullins, who is best known for his song “Awesome God” and his commitment to bring the gospel of Christ to Native American communities.
When Rich died in a car crash in 1997, David’s life changed dramatically. After serving nine years on the ministerial staff at Oak Grove Christian Church in Beckley, W.Va., David and his family relocated to Wichita, Kan., to carry on the work Rich started with Native Americans. Rich’s friends and family developed The Legacy of a Kid Brother of St. Frank to continue his vision to share the love of Christ with Native American reservations through music and the arts.
David served as director of The Legacy from 1998 to 2002 and was actively involved in teaching at churches, camps and retreats throughout the United States, Canada, Ireland and Guatemala.
His love of writing and teaching also sparked a separate church retreat program for adults on subjects such as coming to terms with brokenness and the love of God.
David has served as preaching associate at East 91st Street Christian Church since 2005, where he teaches Bible studies, speaks in evening services and regularly preaches during Sunday morning worship services. He is a graduate of Johnson Bible College.
