Exhibits showcase artistic and photographic talent of Milligan senior

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (February 19, 2010) –Ty Lee, a senior fine arts major at Milligan College, will showcase his talents through two upcoming exhibits. The first exhibit, highlighting Lee’s photography, will open on Sunday, Feb. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. It will remain open through March 6.

The second exhibit, showcasing a variety of artistic media, will open on Sunday, March 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. It will run through March 27.

Both exhibits will be in the Milligan Art Gallery, located in the lower level of Derthick Hall. They are free and open to the public.

Lee’s photography exhibit consists of a series of portraits that focus on the relationships that surround us on a daily basis and their impact on our development. His art exhibit focuses on many of the same ideas and includes portraits of individuals who have influenced Lee’s life. The art exhibit titled, “Why We Are the Way We Are,” includes drawings, etchings, paintings, watercolor and pastel/charcoal drawings.

“Why I am the way I am ultimately springs from the relationships, ideas and values that surround me,” said Lee, a native of Springdale, Ark. “These relationships and ideas are consciously and sometimes unconsciously reflected through my work.”
