MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (August 20, 2009) –Theatre duo Jim and Carol Shores will perform during Milligan College’s convocation service on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 11 a.m. in Seeger Memorial Chapel. They will perform again that evening at 6:30 p.m. in Sub-7 located in McMahan Student Center.
With a love for theatre and a strong Christian faith, the Shores founded Acts of Renewal” to create and produce excellent Christian theatre that glorifies God and challenges people to seek God through Christ for hope and meaning.” Acts of Renewal offers a wide repertoire of quality Christian theatre. The duo easily engage with an intergenerational audience offering first class performances of hilarious, moving and powerful plays.
The morning performance is titled “Stress and Sabbath: Finding Balance in the Chaos,” meant to provide helpful tools and spiritual disciplines that balance the intensity of life. The evening performance, titled “Communicating with the Opposite Sex: What Do You Mean You Can’t Understand Me?,” is a comedy which explores the differences between the sexes and offers some basics in healthy communication skills.
Milligan’s convocation programs traditionally occur on Tuesday mornings at 11 a.m. and are characterized by the integration of faith and learning. These events include cultural and artistic presentations, forums addressing faith and contemporary issues and special lecture presentations.
