MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Jan. 30, 2008) — Alicia Williamson-Garcia will present “Becoming a Woman in Worship” at the fourth annual Associated Ladies for Milligan (ALM) ladies conference on Saturday, Feb. 23, in Seeger Chapel on the campus of Milligan College.
Williamson-Garcia has an exceptional gift to passionately articulate God’s truth through speaking and music in a way that truly impacts lives.
“The heart of our ministry is the word of God,” said Williamson-Garcia. “God has given us music to open the heart and his infallible word to fill the heart and change a life. Worship, in its total essence is a response to the truth, not a reaction to circumstances.”
After graduating from Winthrop College with a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance, Williamson-Garcia traveled for six years with the contemporary Christian group TRUTH. At that time she recorded her first signature song, “There is a Hope.” Since then she has released several albums, including “ Alicia,” “There Is a Hope,” “The Rescue,” “Faithful Heart,” “Praise and Worship” and “We Win.”
Williamson-Garcia began her ministry in 1993. She predominantly speaks to Christian women’s’ audiences and leads congregations in worship. Over the last few years she has partnered with several other ministries, including Precept Ministries, The Brooklyn Tabernacle, Dr. Tony Evans, Women of Faith, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, INSP, CBN, In Touch with Charles Stanley, The Gaither Homecoming and Food for the Hungry.
“As I have quieted myself and have purposely set aside time to study the word of God, He has opened doors for me that I could never open myself,” said Williamson-Garcia.
In addition to her ministry, Williamson-Garcia teaches at Liberty University and also serves as artist-in-residence at Liberty University and Thomas Road Baptist Church.
Registration for the conference is $30. Lunch will be provided. All proceeds benefit student scholarships at Milligan College.
