Author and minister to speak at Milligan

Milligan College, Tenn. (Oct. 16, 2007) – Author and minister Rick Rusaw will talk about his latest book, “Living A Life on Loan: Finding Grace at the Intersections,” at Milligan College on Thursday, Oct. 25.

Rusaw has been the senior minister at LifeBridge Christian Church in Longmont, Colo., for 15 years while church attendance has grown from 700 to about 3,200. As an “externally focused church,” LifeBridge has become connected to its community by providing volunteer services for a wide variety of agencies. Rusaw’s new book, “Living a Life on Loan,” coauthored with Eric Swanson, chronicles the journey a Christian can experience in such service.

During his visit Rusaw will speak at convocation on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. in Seeger Memorial Chapel and again at 7 p.m. in Walker Auditorium, located on the lower level of Seeger Chapel, talking with area student ministry teams and youth volunteers about how to explore the intersections of life and prepare students for service.

“As a speaker, Rick brings a wealth of knowledge and great energy to the stage,” said Phyllis Fox, director of Youth in Ministry (YiM), who is sponsoring the evening event. “‘Living a Life on Loan’ issues a personal challenge to remember that your life is part of a larger story that God is telling the world and that He has a personal plan for each of us to fulfill.”

Rusaw is an on-air host for “Worship” and co-author of “The Externally Focused Church,” “60 Simple Secrets,” and “Windows of Worship Devotional Series.” He currently serves on the board of directors for Milligan College, as well as Christian Network Incorporated and Hope International University. Prior to LifeBridge, Rusaw served as vice president of Cincinnati Christian University and associate minister at First Christian Church in Fort, Myers, Fla. He is a graduate of Cincinnati Christian University and Cincinnati Bible Seminary.

Rusaw’s lectures are free and open to the public.
