Bristol principal one of two new faculty at Milligan

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (March 27, 2006) — Milligan College welcomes Dr. Tausha Clay and Dr. Tracey Crowe to full-time teaching positions as assistant professors in the area of education.

Clay will replace Dr. Carol Roose, who is retiring this spring after serving 17 years as professor of education at Milligan. Crowe, who is principal at Anderson Elementary School in Bristol, Tenn., will fill a new position created due to growth in Milligan’s Master of Education program.

Clay holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in early childhood education from East Tennessee State University. She completed a doctorate in education degree in educational leadership with an administrative endorsement from ETSU in 2004. She has taught elementary school in North Carolina and Tennessee and served as an adjunct instructor of education at ETSU. In 2005, Clay served a one-year appointment on the education faculty at Milligan College.

“Dr. Clay has already distinguished herself in the classroom at Milligan, as well as in her field supervision of the students,” said Dr. Mark Matson, Milligan College academic dean. “We welcome her to Milligan and are delighted at the knowledge and experience she brings to the classroom.”

Crowe earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education with a minor in criminal justice from ETSU in 1994. She holds a master of education degree in early childhood education and a doctorate in educational leadership with an administrative endorsement from ETSU. Prior to her position as principal at Anderson Elementary School, Crowe served as a curriculum specialist in the Bristol City Schools, as well as the director of the Bristol City Schools Early Childhood Learning Center. Crowe has also served as an adjunct professor of education at ETSU since 1999.

“Dr. Crowe has shown herself be very competent in administration and brings an excitement to her work that will benefit Milligan students and faculty,” said Matson. “We look forward to her presence on our campus.”
