MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Feb. 15, 2006) — Milligan College has established a new spring enrollment record this semester, with a total of 962 students, which is an increase of 68 students over spring 2005 and the highest spring enrollment ever recorded at Milligan College.
Milligan has seen the largest growth in recent semesters in the college’s three graduate programs.
“We were pleased to see an increase of 16 percent in our M.Ed. program and a 13 percent increase in our MBA program,” said Tracy Brinn, Milligan College director of enrollment management.
The retention of fall 2005 freshmen to spring 2006 stands at 89.3 percent, higher than the previous two year average, reports Brinn.
“This is a very strong number—well above national averages—and something that has been an intentional and collaborative effort by our campus. We’re serious about serving our students,” said Brinn.
The solid spring enrollment comes on the heels of a record enrollment last fall.
“More new students are coming to campus, but more importantly they are liking their college experience and are staying through to their graduation,” said Milligan President Donald R. Jeanes.
“Milligan has worked very hard at not only attracting and enrolling students, but delivering a quality education, helping them continue to afford that education, and ensuring that they graduate not only with a diploma but with an experience and knowledge-base that will serve them for life,” said Jeanes.
Brinn explained that the college’s growth is a culmination of several years of reengineering their approach to student recruitment, admission, retention, marketing and other key areas.
“Milligan has long been an outstanding liberal arts college – we are now working harder at finding more effective ways to share our mission with a broader audience,” said Brinn.
Milligan’s student body represents 37 states and 17 foreign countries.
