MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN ( September 16, 2005 ) — Former missionary and church leader Kay Moll of Standard Publishing Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, will present the second annual Fugit Lecture series at Milligan College on Sept. 20 and 22.

Moll will speak on the topic of “What God wants the church to be.” The Bette Montgomery Fugit Lectures were established in 2004 and underwritten by Gerald and Bette Fugit to explore the future of the Restoration Movement churches.

Milligan President Donald R. Jeanes explained that the Christian churches/churches of Christ, of which Milligan is affiliated, share a common heritage in what is often called “The Restoration Movement.” This 19 th -century unity and restoration effort by Barton W. Stone and Thomas and Alexander Campbell generated several distinct church groups: the Churches of Christ, the Christian Churches , and the Disciples of Christ.

“Throughout its history, Milligan has maintained an active relationship to the Restoration Movement and a commitment to the restoration of New Testament Christianity,” said Jeanes, who said the church movement is several million people strong today.

Moll will open the lecture series Tuesday, September 20, at Milligan’s 11 a.m. convocation service. The lecture series will conclude on Thursday, September 22, at Milligan’s 11 a.m. chapel service. Both lectures are free and open to the public.
