MILLIGAN COLLEGE , TN (February 10, 2005) — Milligan’s annual Family Weekend will kick off this Friday, Feb. 11. Planned by the sophomore class officers, Family Weekend is an opportunity for students’ parents and siblings to see what college life is like, as well as to tour and explore the Tri-Cities area.
On-campus events are planned throughout the weekend, but families are encouraged to do some sightseeing in the local area, as well.
Friday will begin with registration in the McMahan Student Center from 3 to 6 p.m. Dinner is “on your own,” followed by an All Dorm Open House from 7 p.m. to midnight.
On Saturday, a Dean’s List Ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. in Walker Auditorium of Seeger Chapel for families of all students named to the Academic Dean’s List. During “The Inside Scoop” from 1-2 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge of the Student Center , families can learn more about their students’ day-to-day lives at college.
Saturday evening, the women’s and men’s basketball teams take on Montreat College at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. These games will be the final home games of the season. At 9 p.m., a Coffee House in SUB7 in the Student Center will conclude Saturday’s events.
Families are encouraged to attend a local church with their students on Sunday morning.
