Milligan awards Oosting scholarship


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (June 17, 2004) —Milligan College announced today that Micah Antanaitis of Hermitage, Tenn., is the 2004 recipient of the Kenneth and Jacklyn Oosting Scholarship, the most prestigious scholarship offered by Milligan College. Antanaitis will receive a merit-based scholarship in the amount of $18,000 per academic year, with a four year value of $72,000.

Antanaitis was one of about 20 finalists for this top freshman scholarship honor. The finalists were chosen from over 800 total applications for fall 2004 admission.

As an Oosting scholar, Antanaitis is recognized for outstanding academic ability, a demonstration of commitment to scholarly pursuits, a sincere Christian faith and service to others.

“My parents and I were greatly impressed with both the academics and the social atmosphere at Milligan. After my visit to the campus, I knew that Milligan was where the Lord was leading me,” said Antanaitis.

Antanaitis is the son of Michael and Diana Antanaitis of Hermitage, Tenn. His intended major is humanities. He plans to obtain a master’s degree in architecture after his undergraduate studies at Milligan College.

“Micah is an outstanding young man in all respects and has a bright future – at Milligan and beyond,” said David Mee, vice president for enrollment management at Milligan College.
