Kuykendall to speak in chapel


MILLIGAN COLLEGE , TN (March 1, 2004) — Dr. Crystal Kuykendall, nationally renowned educator, attorney, human relations expert and powerful presenter, will deliver the message for Milligan College’s chapel service on Thursday, March 4, at 11:00 a.m. in Seeger Memorial Chapel.

Raised in Chicago, Ill., Kuykendall received a degree in government from Southern Illinois University before going on to earn a master of arts degree in sociology from Montclair State University (Montclair, N.J.).  She later earned her doctor in educational administration degree from Atlanta University (Atlanta, Ga.).

After serving many years as an elementary and secondary public school teacher, Kuykendall continued her academic career at Seton Hall University and Montclair State University. She is the former executive director of the National Alliance of Black School Educators. She also served as director of urban and minority relations for the National School Boards Association and the director of the Citizens Training Institute for the National Committee for Citizens in Education. Appointed by U.S. President Jimmy Carter to the National Advisory Council on Continuing Education, she served as council chairperson from 1979-1981. She was also chosen by the editors of Ebony Magazine as one of the “50 Leaders of the Future” in 1979.

In over 25 years of experience and service delivery, Kuykendall has received over 200 awards, plaques, citations, certificates, “Keys to the City” and numerous tributes for her eloquence, facilitating personal and professional development, problem resolution and organizational growth.
