MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (October 1, 2002) — Milligan College’s color photography class will display their work at the Northeast State Community College Exhibition from Sept. 30-Oct. 30 at the Northeast library.
“This is the first Milligan student exhibit as a group off-campus. The door was open to us to have the exhibit, and we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to display Milligan artwork as a blessing to the community,” says Alice Anthony, assistant professor of the practice of art at Milligan.
Milligan students participating in the exhibition are senior Dinah DeFord, senior Jason Harville, junior Jara Henderson, junior Robin Holtman, senior Leslie Jenkins, junior Amber Neill, senior Beth Pearson, senior Laura Reagan, senior Tamarah Scully and senior Ali Waters. All participating students are either photography majors or minors.
DeFord, Harvillle, Henderson, Jenkins, and Pearson have award-winning photographs featured in the Best of College Photography 2002 Annual.
“Photography is something I have always wanted to do. I went to Northeast State before coming to Milligan so it is great for me to see the two colleges come together for the photography exhibit,” says DeFord.
In November, two of Milligan’s upper level photography classes will display a documentary about Bays Mountain at the Nature Center at Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium.
