Nursing ceremonies celebrate student accomplishments


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (May 3, 2002) — The Milligan College Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) program will host two ceremonies on the following two weekends, celebrating the accomplishments of its students.

The Milligan College Nursing Honor Society will induct seven new students this Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m. in Wilson Auditorium. On the following Saturday, May 11, the B.S.N. Class of 2002 will be pinned at the Area of Nursing Pinning Ceremony in Hopwood Christian Church at 5 p.m.

The following seven junior nursing students will be inducted into the Nursing Honor Society: Carol Barron of Gray, Tenn.; Julie Bostrom of Elizabethton, Tenn.; Amanda Hammons of Gray, Tenn.; Melanie Reed of Mt. Carmel, Tenn.; Frances Rose of Johnson City, Tenn.; Sarah Steele of Paducah, Ky.; and Salem Wood of Johnson City, Tenn.

The Honor Society ceremony will also include a presentation of research by Milligan alumna Elizabeth Krell, RN, MSN. The ceremony is open to the public.

The Pinning Ceremony on May 11 will honor three graduating senior nursing students: Ann Dee Rettig of Findlay, Ohio; Emily Leustcher of Cary, Ill.; and Tanyelle Treece of Johnson City, Tenn. The guest speaker will be Mary Fabick, M.S.N., M.Ed., R.N., and CEN, associate professor of nursing at Milligan.
