This year’s repertoire includes arrangements of American folk hymns by Ellen Jane Lorenz and other pieces by Kevin McChesney, Ronald Kauffmann, Douglas Wagner and Jean Langlais.
The Milligan College Keyboard Ensemble, directed by Carlene B. Eastridge, assistant professor of music, has remained in the forefront of national trends in using multiple electronic keyboards to perform orchestral and contemporary keyboard literature. The Keyboard Ensemble will perform works for brass choir, string ensemble, band, and chamber orchestra, ranging from the Classical period to Scott Joplin and Canadian Brass.
The Milligan Flute Choir, directed of Mrs. Janice Hinman, adjunct instructor in flute, plays a wide variety of musical styles and various types of flutes. The music for this concert will include Irish music, Italian music and a traditional American hymn.
