A Portrait of a Servant Leader

Justin Ciralsky
Crazy. Outgoing. Passionate. Zealous. Loves Kids. Loves God more. Sound like a typical youth minister? This picture perfectly depicts Justin Ciralsky, a senior majoring in Youth Ministry and Psychology at Milligan College. With his long, shaggy hair, boisterous attitude, soccer skills, and domineering voice that is often heard yelling across campus to catch a friend's attention, Justin is the perfect individual for the youth ministry profession.

A required internship resulted in Justin spending the summer of 2006 as a youth ministry intern in sunny Hilton Head at Live Oak Christian Church. Comically, even the approach in which Justin seized the internship with Live Oak was typical Justin style...[Read more]

Megan Gable
“If you try to escape we will shoot you.” These were the words Megan Gable heard as she took place in a hostage simulation during her Pre-Field Orientation training week before going to Bosnia as a summer missionary intern. The hostage simulation lasted four hours on a dark, rainy summer night in which real guns with blanks were used for a real life effect. Megan spent a vigorous week in Pre-Field Orientation with Team Expansion during which she was trained not only in hostage simulations, but also how to discern her spiritual gifts and how to master the Bosnian language quickly...[Read more]

Anna Hampton
According to the Forum on Child and Family Statistics there are forty-eight births for every thousand unmarried women ages 15-44. Further, these children are at greater risk for adverse consequences when born to a single mother because the social, emotional, and financial resources available to the family may be more limited.

While the circumstances foar these families are often difficult and heartbreking, there also rises the opportunity to provide a healing ministry through love and counseling...[Read more]

Jan was interested in the CASA booth, and therefore talked with CASA board member, Charlene McGough, for a few minutes in Wal-Mart. As a result, Jan has been involved with CASA for over a year now.

However, he sees his talents not as simple skills, but at gifts from God, and he spent his college summer break in 2007 glorifying God with his soccer skills...[Read more]

Emily Arnold
Sometimes in one's life God places so many deliberate signs right in our paths that it is as if He is saying, “Do this,” or “go in My Name.” Even if one wanted to run from God's calling, such as Jonah, God has already placed people and circumstances in our lives that point in His direction.

Emily Arnold is a bright young woman from Milligan College who went on a life changing mission trip to Hungary. While she traveled abroad in the summer of 2007, many people and events had come into her life for many years previously that all would have an eventual impact... [Read more]

The typical college Spring Break consists of exotic vacations, relaxing days sunning at the beach with close friends, and a delicious break from cafeteria food. Throw in exceptionally unique pictures capturing moments of the incredible trip, and it seems Spring Break cannot get any better for the ordinary college student. However, for a rare group of students from Milligan College , their 2008 Spring Break tells a far different story.

Jill Bourgeois, along with seven close friends, organized and led their own Spring Break mission trip to Indianapolis . Jill Bourgeois is a bright and promising young woman who dares to use her talents and passions to change the world for God in any way she possibly can. [Read more]
