The Silent Move is a work that was created in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the choreographer's Master's degree from Emmanuel School of Religion. Her topic was the story of Jairus' daughter and the hemorrhaging woman (Mark 5:21-43), and she approached it from the point of view of one who has no voice, but can speak only through her actions.
Choreography: Miriam Perkins
Dancers: Ditty Hagardorn, Joy Hannah

September 18

7:30 p.m. - Gregory Center

Sponsored by the Milligan Arts Council

Mountain Movers Dance Company was founded in January 1982 to promote modern dance in the Tri-Cities area. Under the sponsorship of the Department of Physical Education, Exercise and Sports Sciences at ETSU, the company provides a place for the post-high school dancer to continue to develop technically and creatively. All members of the company are encouraged to choreograph, and improvisation is frequently used in the development of new works. Dancers in the company are not restricted to individuals associated with ETSU, but are drawn from the entire Tri-Cities community.
