MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (June 26, 2012) — The Admissions Office at Milligan College will host an information open house for its graduate and adult programs on Monday, July 9, from 6-7:30 p.m. on the second floor of Milligan’s Derthick Hall.
Faculty and staff will be present to discuss degree completion programs for adults in business administration and early childhood education (BS), as well as graduate degree programs in business administration (MBA), education (M.Ed.), occupational therapy (MSOT) and counseling (MSC). The open house will also include information about Milligan’s online major in computer information systems (CIS).
The general information session will allow visitors to speak with faculty members and receive information on a variety of topics, such as academic coursework and financial aid.
The BS in business administration is a degree completion program that enables working adults to complete a business administration major in 16 months by attending class one night a week.
The BS in early childhood education allows adults who have completed about two years of college to complete the child and youth development major in about 18 months at either Milligan or at its off-campus site in Mountain City, Tenn. Teaching licensure in early childhood education (PreK-3) may be obtained by completing additional coursework and a 15-week supervised teaching experience in a public school setting.
The computer information systems-mobile (CIS) major is designed for students who are unable to complete their degree or add a second major in a traditional college setting. Courses in this major are delivered to the student via Milligan’s Internet course management system and can be easily accessed from anywhere. Students can take just one course at a time or complete the major in as few as four semesters.
The MSC is Milligan’s newest graduate program and is set to begin this fall. The two-year, 60-credit-hour program will prepare graduates to pursue licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). The counseling program consists of six full semesters, including two summer sessions. Classes are available in late afternoons and evenings.
